Veneers Provide a Quick and Easy Fix to Many Smile Flaws

It’s no mystery that behind every great smile is a mouthful of great-looking teeth. If your smile is suffering because of discoloration or minor dental flaws, veneers provide the ideal cover-up, allowing you to flash a perfect grin every time.

At DC Dental Spa, our father-son team of dental experts, Dr. Marcus Hoang, offers both cosmetic and general dentistry services to patients in the Washington, DC, area. With the goal of providing each patient something to really smile about, we ensure that your teeth are healthy on the inside and look great from the outside. To that end, we offer dental veneers as part of our cosmetic suite of services.

Read on to learn how veneers can whiten your teeth, as well as cover up many dental flaws.

Whiten and brighten

Veneers are thin wafer-like shells that we place over the fronts of your teeth. We typically use porcelain since this material is durable, is stain-resistant, and mimics your natural enamel right down to the opalescence.

If your teeth have become stained or discolored due to age — and our professional whitening isn’t garnering the results you want — veneers can give you whiter, brighter teeth that you’ll be proud to show off for years to come.

And we can whiten your teeth to most any shade you want. When you come in we’ll show you the many shade options.

A cover-up

What many people don’t realize is that dental veneers can also hide a host of dental imperfections, namely:

Even teeth that are mildly crooked can be corrected with dental veneers, which provide the perfect cover-up for any number of flaws.

The road to a flawless smile

If you decide on veneers, we start by removing some enamel from your teeth to make room for the veneers (please note that this is permanent). Then we take impressions of your teeth and send them off for the custom manufacture of your veneers.

Once your veneers are ready, you return and we bond them into place. After any necessary adjustments to ensure that everything fits seamlessly, you’re free to introduce the world to your new and improved smile.

You take care of your veneers as you normally do your teeth — regular brushing, flossing, and rinsing. Veneers are tough, but they can still stain, so daily care is important, and you should avoid foods and habits that stain, like coffee and smoking.

Your veneers will serve you well for years, especially if you take care of them. Should they need replacing, simply come back to see us so that we can make new impressions.
